Hello World, My Name Is Randy. I have decided to start this blog for many reasons. With the primary reason to be accountable to the world in the goals that I have set for myself. And to share the joys/frustrations/struggles and success that an individual can experience in life. Well here goes a little about me. I am 30 yrs old. Have a beautiful wife and a wonderful daughter(soon to be 3 yrs old). I am a diehard StL Cardinals fan, Love all kinds of rock music(rock, metal, hardcore, indie, alternative, and a little pop just for good measure). I also like a good movie now and then. I began 2008 with the goal of creating a better life for myself and my family.
The following are the goals I have for 2008.
1.Get Fit- I played 1 yr of college basketball and was injured. I haven’t been in the best shape pretty much since then. Not overall fat, just not in shape. In the last 2 yrs I have definitely let myself go. Gained 25lbs(up to 228lbs) and just have felt miserable when trying to do something active. I have always read Men’s Health but really never took action. I bought the Feb 2008 issue and I spoke of the Belly Off! Plan. What a great plan. Something that I can do in the comfort of my own home. Not to mention that I can ask questions and keep motivated by checking the Ask an Expert forum. I am Preparing to end my 3rd week of the 8 week program. I am very pleased with the results. Down 13lbs(from 228 to 215). I am going to be posting some photos so you can enjoy the transformation with me. A special thanks to Sloshbg and NMFD for helping me get the courage to display this transformation for the world to see.
2. Get back into the career that I left 4 yrs ago:
When I left I was at the pinnacle of a young career. I was an Assistant State Director with an Insurance Firm in St. Louis and was living the life. Until our State Director was brought up on Fraud charges and I was left without a job. I chose at that point not to get back into that career because of putting 4 years into a company(usually 65-70 per week to get the biz going) and just to be let go because of suspended operations. I was burned out. But hence, I loved what I was doing and have found many companies that are wonderful. I will know if I am chose here shortly for one of the positions available. I interviewed 7 Months ago. They are very anal about who they hire(which is a good thing). Will let all who care know what happens.
3.Dominate VFL: For those who aren’t in the know that stands for Vine Football League. The Vine is where I attend church. They have a fall flag football league with a championship trophy and a playoff system. Last fall was the 1st year I played. I was always on the line being the tight end. I was in horrible shape and pulled a hamstring on one occassion and had to sit out a week. NOT THIS YEAR. I want to be in superb shape and dominate offensively and really step up defensively(quicker to the player w/ the ball, I was awful in getting juked and over running the play.) The whole league will be suprised at the offseason work I have put in. Yes, I know this is JUST a flag football league but we take it very serious. If you have ever been in any kind of church league you probably already know what I am talking about. Anywho, Dominate in ‘08 is the name of the game.
So there it is, a little about me and my goals. I am going to be putting up my daily nutrition(and cheat days). Letting you know how the workouts have been. Amongst other invariable atributes that go along in the daily life of Rclem24.

I’m glad to see your blog up and going, Randy. I’ll add it to my blogroll. And I’m very happy to see another football fan. I’m watching NY this year (I can’t stand the Pats). Best of luck to you in this. I saw your profile on MH, and it looks like you are already in pretty decent shape. You don’t have the big round belly I have, so you’ll do quite well.

I appreciate the support. I am a HUGE football fan as well of course I am a little disappointed because I am a PACKERS FAN. I also love the Rams(tought year to do so).So go NY. I am a little above 6′4. So I carry my weight a little different than most I suppose. But I want to be fit and cut so I don’t have to be embarassed when I take my daughter to the pool in the summer. Plus my wife has always said she wished I had bigger arms. So here we go.
